Germany:The Accommodations
So we're staying in a 'cultural center'/artist's commune in Berlin and our space is.......basic. The room is about thirty feet long and twelve feet wide, concrete floor, white brick walls, and the south facing wall is thirty feet of floor to ceiling window. The room came with two desks (D and I have our own work spaces) (so D andI have our own lounge spaces), a sofa, an oversized ottoman, a round end table, a locker, a small fridge and about ten times more crap we had the managers remove the first day. We were told tat we could use the two toilets on our floor, but they didn't provide the little tid bid that these indoor outhouses were also used by the patrons of the nightclub above our room. The nightclub wasan aspect they failed to mention as well. But now after four weeks a piss filled hall and thunderous dance music until eight in the morning are the familiar signs of home. Fortunately we scored the key to the dressing room one floor down, so we get to shower and stuff there. The building itself is enormous, five floors with one wing dedicated to being the gallery, and this wing with an incredibly spacious theatre and the offices on the first floor, a four screen kino on the second, multiple studios on the third and fourth, and the club on the fifth.
